Satellite Demand is Growing – Mike Kenneally, NewSat VP of Satellite Strategy

A communications specialist and information management expert, Kenneally has been with the satellite carrier for six years. He also worked at the Department of Defence, the Prime Minister’s Department and IBM. Under his supervision as technical auditor, the national census adopted spatial information systems in 1996 for the very first time.

Mr Kenneally, the vice president of Satellite Strategy of NewSat, expects the size of the company’s teleport engineers to increase in the coming years due to the rising demand for mobile backhaul, satellite communications and satellite-based services.

Soaring ahead with world class technology

Australia’s largest satellite communications company, NewSat is providing vital communications for Australian Defence personnel situated in remote locations. The company is now also preparing to launch its very own communications satellite.

NewSat’s acclaimed Adelaide Teleport

Together with the Perth Teleport, the Adelaide Teleport facility form NewSat’s 23 antennas currently uplinking to 12 satellites. Also a Military Accredited Global Access Point, the Adelaide facility provides flexible satellite communications to IT projects by the US Government in the Middle East, all from the geographic “safe haven” of Australia. The location, with little weather disturbances, has also allowed near uninterrupted services to Proactive Communications Inc., delivering additional bandwidth in the region for a rich media environment of fully integrated voice, data, video and secure messaging over a satellite communications network infrastructure.

With uninterrupted views of the regions geostationary satellites and 24 x 7 x 365 on-site Network Operations Centre, NewSat provides reliable Teleport services to ensure that you always stay connected.
