Jabiru satellite program to deliver more powerful satellite internet services

NewSat’s Jabiru Satellite Program is set to deliver more powerful satellite broadband solutions not only for rural clients, but also to enterprise customers and government projects like nationwide broadband networks. The fleet of Ka band satellites are a new generation of birds that can deliver high-throughput capacity, and more efficient support for bandwidth intensive applications. NewSat Ltd has already schedule the first satellite of the fleet, the Jabiru 1, for a 2014 launch. Once in orbit, it will become Australia’s first fully owned commercial satellite, delivering new capacity across the Middle East, Australia, Asia, and Africa. Enterprise customers will benefit from this project, and could take advantage of the Ka band satellites for various applications like satellite internet, Voice over Internet Protocol, and even video and voice conferencing.

Government and military sector turning to Ka band

Ka band satellites are the next logical step for the satellite communications market. Providing greater capacity to support a range of communications solutions, the Ka band technology can deliver high-throughput capacity to military personnel requiring reliable and secure networks especially in volatile regions.

Unlike terrestrial networks which are prone to damages in conflicts, satellite communications solutions can be delivered anywhere, providing remote connectivity that works now only for military operations, but also business-related endeavors by industries with remote sites like mining.

NewSat Ltd is banking on its Jabiru Satellite Program to help meet the growing demand for satellite capacity. Its next generation ka band satellites will become Australia’s first independently owned commercial satellites covering the Middle East, parts of Asia, and Africa where demand for the technology has been growing over recent years.

Adelaide teleport delivers world-class satellite communications in Afghanistan

NewSat’s Adelaide teleport facility has consistently delivered world-class satellite communications to military personnel in the Middle East. US-based Proactive Communications Inc. (PCI), has relied on the South Australian satellite ground station to provide camp communications for soldiers in Afghanistan, and has been delivering stable and secure support thanks to a number of factors.

South Australia is a geographically optimal location to house teleport facilities. The state has mild temperatures and low rainfall thereby minimizing the risk of rain fade causing latency issues. No major earthquakes hit the area too, and its location in the Southern Hemisphere provides optimum look angles to the Middle East, visibility of the US Pacific rim, Eastern Europe, and Africa. Since Australia is also an allied country, the US can be assured of political stability, as well as shared foreign policy objectives.

Soldiers in Afghanistan require high-capacity satellite communications for a number of a uses including medical emergencies, camp to headquarters communications, construction, operations, as well as connectivity for resource providers.

According to Marc Legare, CEO of Texas-based Proactive Communications, NewSat has delivered the necessary satellite capacity to military personnel across the Middle East. The Adelaide teleport facility’s remoteness allows it to uplink to a wider-range of satellites required to meet the demands in the regions where military organizations operate.

In places with no terrestrial infrastructure, NewSat’s teleport services makes US Army operations possible - from telephone services to unclassified research, recreations or troops welfare. PCI makes use of the satellite communications to seamlessly integrate camp communications, turning radio signals to IP data streams which are then backhauled over the satellite to the Adelaide teleport, and then back to the military bases in a specific region.

Mr. Legare also expressed his excitement over the Jabiru Satellite Program of the Australian satellite specialist. The Ka band satellites will deliver new-capacity high-demand regions in the ME needed for quality communications.

In fact, worldwide demand for high-quality satellite bandwidth has been increasing over the last five years, especially in the military sector. The Australian satellite communications industry has emerged as one of the global leaders in supplying this surge in demand, thanks to its geographical and political advantages over other teleport facilities in the world. Recognized as one of the leading facilities by the World Teleport Association, the Adelaide teleport may very well be at the center of this leading market.

Internet from satellite perfect for remote regions

One of the many uses of satellite technology is the delivery of wireless communications in remote regions or rural communities cut-off from traditional fibre networks. Fibre or fixed-wireless services often cannot penetrate these far-flung locations because of geographic challenges. Deserts, dense tropical forests, mountainous regions, or even seemingly uninhabited islands make it impossible for terrestrial communications infrastructure to be built.

This is why NewSat Ltd, Australia’s leading satellite communications specialist, has been focusing on the delivery of internet from satellite technology. Using its VSAT broadband expertise, NewSat Ltd has designed and engineered reliable, remote connectivity solutions that are also secure and stable.

Our internet from satellite service can also be maximized for a range of broadband applications depending on the client’s requirements. Plus, NewSat Ltd’s coverage is global in scope reaching the Americas, the European regions, the Middle East, and all across the Pacific. This means our technology can be deployed almost anywhere regardless of how seemingly unreachable, so you can stay connected with the rest of the world, at any given time.

Remember, when it comes to internet from satellite, NewSat Ltd delivers world-class solutions. Connecting with the rest of the world truly starts with us.

Internet by satellite

Hard-to-reach locations present geographic challenges to traditional terrestrial communications infrastructure like fibre, cutting off such areas from Internet access. In mountainous regions, or dense tropical foliage; in vast desert areas or even nearly uninhabited island communities, building ground networks may seem impossible and even impracticable.

NewSat Ltd’s satellite solutions make it possible to provide Internet access even in the remotest of regions. Using high-powers satellites connecting to world-class teleport facilities - one in Perth, and another in Adelaide - NewSat delivers reliable wireless Internet access to remote and rural communities, at speeds comparable to those in urban centres.

Internet by satellite is the perfect coverage to “fill in the gaps” where terrestrial networks are not advisable. Improved satellite technology - like the rise of the ka band spectrum - allows NewSat to provide reliable services with minimal interference and latency issues.

Connect with NewSat. Call us at +61 3 9674 4644 and we’ll connect you with the rest of the globe.
