‘NewSat among the Fast Twenty Teleport Operators’ says WTA

The World Teleport Association has once again recognized Australian independent satellite specialist NewSat Ltd as one of the top teleport operators in the world. In its annual world rankings, NewSat Ltd was included in the top 5 of the “Fast Twenty” list which ranks teleport-operating companies based on year-on-year revenue growth.

The WTA also listed NewSat as top 10 in the Independent Top Twenty of 2012 list, which ranks independent teleport operators based on revenues from all sources. The list excludes companies whose primary business is the owners and operations of its own satellite fleet or terrestrial network.

Last year, the World Teleport Association honoured Newsat Founder and CEO Adrian Ballintine as the Teleport Executive of the Year. During this year’s SATELLITE Conference and Exhibition which was held in Washington, NewSat was also named as a top 3 Finalist in the Independent Teleport of the Year category for its teleports located in Adelaide and Perth.

NewSat releases FY2012 Year End results

Australia’s leading satellite communications specialist, NewSat Ltd (ASX:NWT), is pleased to announce the company’s year end results for the financial year ending June 30 2012. To date this is the best performance from NewSat and the company’s CFO, Adam Shapiro, was pleased to discuss the Year End Results in detail, including an outlook for shareholders.

The company has continued to win new business contracts, including a prized deal to provide offshore and onshore communications to Chevron’s Wheatstone Project, the largest LNG development in Western Australia. The agreement is in partnership with BAE systems and will see the world class Perth teleport facility providing enterprise-grade satellite communications to the resource project.

NewSat’s Jabiru-1 satellite, presently under construction with Lockheed Martin, is within schedule for its 2014 launch. After successfully completing the Preliminary Design Review, the Ka-band satellite project also secured funding from the Ex-Im Bank.

NewSat’s Founder and CEO, Adrian Ballintine had this to say about the company’s FY2012 Year End Results:

The NewSat business is in a strong position. We have a profitable and award winning core teleport business which generates growing Monthly Recurring Revenues and kick-started the 2013 financial year with the largest ever single contract for the Wheatstone Project. Demand for satellite communications continues its resilient global growth. Our enterprise and government customers are increasingly demanding faster speeds, higher quality and secure communications to support their mission critical business activities. NewSat’s first satellite, Jabiru-‐1, is expected to generate more than US$3billion over the 15year life of the satellite at 70% utilisation, creating a step change in earnings and EBITDA margins.
